Setting up a web site in IIS without plesk

1) The first thing we are going to do is create a folder named the domain name you wish to setup. You may create this anywhere you chose.


2) right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manage".


3) Go to "Local user and groups" Right click on"Users" and select "New User ..."


4) Fill the information similar to how you see it here. Please replace "Domain-name.com" with your domain name.


5) While still having Computer Management open, expand "Services and applications" & "Internet Information Services" aka I.I.S.


6)Right click on "Web sites" and select "New > Web Site ..."


7) Click "Next"

8) Put your domain name in this text box.


9) Press "Next"

10) Enter a host header domain name like the example below:


11) Press "Browse", choose your file path based on where you created your domain name's folder from step 1


12) Press "OK" & then "Next"

13) Check the following boxes and then press "Next"


14) Press "Finish"

15) Right click on your newly created domain name and go to properties

16) Go to the "Directory Security" tab. and press "Edit" in the "Authentication and access control section"



17) Put the user name & password you created for your IUSER account. Leave everything else default and click OK


18) Go back to the folder toy created for your web site, then right click and go to "properties"


19)Select the "security" tab. & click "Add"

20) Put the user you created in the textbox & press "OK"


21) Set the permissions "Read & Execute", "List Folder Contents", and "Read"


21) Complete!
